We are currently looking for volunteers to fill the following roles:

  • Blog Coordinator: Are you a passionate writer and editor keen on reframing the conservation narrative away from the doom and gloom? We need two Blog Coordinators to help us edit and upload the blogs that we receive. This role requires strong editing skills but no prior experience of WordPress as we will be providing a training session on that aspect. If you are interested in shaping our blog section and supporting our ConservationNOW members and optimist bloggers then this role might be for you!
  • Community Manager: Are you an avid social media user keen on fostering inclusive communities online? We need a Community Manager to run our Facebook group and our WildHub ConservationNOW room. This role requires good social media skills but no prior knowledge of WildHub as a training session on that aspect of the role will be provided. If you are interested in promoting more collaboration and dialogue within the Conservation Optimism community then this role might suit you!
  • Database Curator: Are you interested in helping us curate a database of optimistic conservation news stories? We need a Database Curator to help us create a repository of the stories that are flagged by our community on Twitter and Instagram. We want to make finding positive environmental stories as easy as possible! This role requires strong attention to details but no necessary database experience as we will be providing a training session on that aspect. If you’re keen on bringing more positivity to the environmental world and enjoy spending time on Twitter and Instagram, then we want to hear from you!

Conservation Optimism is a diverse and inclusive movement of scientists, artists, professionals, businesses, NGOs and generally motivated humans of all ages and backgrounds so we cannot wait to hear from you! We are actively striving to increase the global representation of our team, and all of these positions will be managed remotely, so people from outside the UK and those from diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply. You are welcome to contact us if you have any accessibility requirements regarding the application process or the role itself.

We are currently reviewing the applications we received and will get back to all the applicants by 16.10.2020.
