The Global Penguin Society is an international organization that promotes the protection of the 18 penguin species on our planet, through science, habitat protection and education. Our objectives include:
Develop sound science to use in the conservation of penguins and marine environments at local, regional, and global scales. Educate communities and decision makers about the importance of penguins and their habitats, aiming at achieving lasting behavioral changes. Identify priority areas for the conservation of penguins and their ecosystems, propose and implement guidelines for their protection. Influence the establishment, implementation, and effectiveness of public and private conservation policies.
We have already been able to protect 32 million acres of habitat for penguin in the ocean and on land and we have successful conservation stories that can help inspire colleagues and the general international community.
We expect this partnership to strengthen our mutual optimistic vision of conservation, empowering colleagues to never give up.
