Climbing trees, dreaming of the depth of the oceans, crying over wildlife crimes. That was the young Katrin. 25-odd years, a conservation degree, and some wondering later, I set out to understand what hope meant for us in the conservation world. What role does it play, and should it be what motivates us? What started as a personal question has become a series of articles to give fellow conservationists a voice. By doing so, I am exploring how we could change our outlook on the change we want to see.
